Any way to do a all in one script using the deepfreeze commands and detect patch deployment using kace.

Is there away to script the deepfreeze thaw/freeze command and then to detect and deploy patches all in one script?

We use the core console to do this

  • Here is the good place to start to see how to go about it with kace

  • The links on the dell.com page are broken, all three (webinar, whitepaper and solution sheet) go to a 404 page.

I have found that the easiest solution is to setup the proper maintenance windows on my Deep Freeze computers to match my patching schedule. The advantage here is that Deep Freeze can lock the keyboard and mouse during the maintenance window so I don't have to worry about someone using the computer while it is thawed for patching. - chucksteel 11 years ago
    • We added Faronics AV also so it updates even when frozen. The core console handles all the faronics products. We schedule the rooms for maintenance when there is a window and update about every 5-6 weeks, with deepfreeze even if an exploit is discovered with windows it is frozen so if the machine gets compromised it goes away on the reboot. - SMal.tmcc 11 years ago
