Any updates on K1000 5.5 Service Desk slowness?

I keep reading all of these articles and I'm scared!

I want to test the user deletion aspect as well as the metering but everything I am hearing is scary!

Has anything been put out or compiled or found that fixes the 'slowness' issue?  I like having my instant kbox, but finding it hard to tell my IT superviser "Hey, we can upgrade, but it's going to be sloooowwwww"

Answer Summary:
I'm proud to report that the upgrade was swift and successful. I'm now joyfully playing with the phone app and my Service desk seems to be running like a charm. I should add that we have a rather small network (150~ish) and most is still not in 'production' (although built and ready to go into such production, even used the MI part of KACE last week for all our PC's). All-in-all, nothing 'bad' to say about 5.5.... yet.

Down towards the bottom of this line Pete mentioned a hotfix. I personally haven't updated yet so I can't say for certain.

  • I just applied 2 patches support got me, it fixed the slowness and sorting issues. - ddevore 10 years ago
    • Two patches? Where you experiencing any other problems besides the slowness in service desk? I have 5.5 running in my test lab, but we do not use service desk. My concern is once we add 20,000 machines we'll get the slowness. - dugullett 10 years ago
      • I've got around 10,000 devices and it's working great. The other problem was in service desk, you could not sort on a few different fields.

I don't know if they like me linking right to patches but here is the name of the two support sent.
        k1_hotfix_5.5_K1_14050_HD_slowdown_20130909.kbin
        k1_hotfix_5_5_K1_14047_HD_column_sort_20130907.kbin

  • I've always found slowness when upgrading Kace server and then having the agents on a older version. It seems to create some sort of https storm that affects the units. - ms01ak 10 years ago
  • Slowness goes sometimes away after a day or two (the database needs sometimes times to check itself which slows the system)
But yes, with the 5.5GA release there is an issue with a slow helpdesk.
Not everybody is affected, that is usually the problem.
So only if you having this issue contact support to get a patch. - Nico_K 10 years ago
    • Thank you sir, using your and Ddevore's advice I am officially upgrading now, here's to big hopes. - Wildwolfay 10 years ago
  • I got a different hotfix. k1_hotfix_5.5_K1-13919_20130830_UI_Freeze.kbin. I wonder if yours is better than mine? - petelanglois 10 years ago

I was given a total of 3 patches for slowness plus a couple more hot fixes.  As long as I'm not in IE it's very snappy.  IE 10 is a dog.

UI Freeze

HD Slowdown

HD Column Sort

I also applied two other hot fixes and the KBOX seems to be humming along.  One issue with Office patches is fixing itself now.
