Any issues re-sequencing file table?

I'm am slimming down an .msi install. With .cab file removed, file table slimmed and resequenced, and last sequence edited in media table all works fine.

But as MSI SDK help states, sequence in file table and last sequence in media table is for managing the cab file. I'm wondering if is there any point in re-sequencing the file table and editing the last sequence in media table? I mean the .cab file for which the sequence is built no more exists, so, is there any issue I should worry about if I left the original sequence with gaps on it and the media table last sequence untouched?

The reason for this is that I'm thinking in future transforms that could remove files in the file table, using the original sequence. But I'm wondering too if the sequence is taken for anything if you remove files from file table or not.

What do you think?

Thx in advance.

But later I been thinking, and what if I after slimming would want to make another cab file for the new layout? Then it would make sense, isn't it?
