An error occured during the installation of assembly

Hello,

I am facing this weird error, An error occured during the installation of assembly 'Microsot VC90.CRT.version="9.0.21022.8". publicKey Token="1fc8b 3b 9a 1e 18e 3b" process Architecture="x86" type="win32". Please refer to Help and Support for more information.

?  Did you repackage this.. or did you use a merge module?

Jaybee. I am given an msi which is compressed one but I have to make it uncompressed and create an mst.

If I install the compressed msimanually,  it is installing correctly but when I uncompress and install it it gives me this error. (I am using all the extracted folders and msi intact)

Comments:
  • uncompressed means.. Admin Image of your original msi only right - jagadeish 11 years ago
  • it comes by extracting using the following command

    msiexec /a pathtomsi TARGETDIR=C:\WhateverDIRName

    It will extract it to WhateverDIRName directory - removedbyuser85960 11 years ago
  • ok.. Which packaging tool are you using? Can you do see diff between your vendor msi and created mst - jagadeish 11 years ago
  • Actually I checked with both the log files for both compressed and uncompressed msi's and they are both returing 0's. But why this rror? - removedbyuser85960 11 years ago
