Altirs and shortcuts
Where are using the Altiris Deployment Solution to deploy about 450 pieces of software to about 1200 clients. I was wondering how you guys deal with Start Menu/shortcuts.
We are using an INI file which includes all our shortcut information. When a user logs on to the network kix32 (www.kixtart.org) builds up the Start Menu using this INI file (according to the users group memberships). We package using Wise. We exclude all of the HKCU registry settings from the MSI packages and apply them on logon using kix32.
