Allow users to run updates for applications

Until I finish getting K1000 setup and tested for patching I'm looking for a good way to allow users (without making them admins on the systems) to update applications when prompted like flash, shockwave and adobe.

If you have the Service Desk portion set up, you could always put all of the newest versions on the Software Library. It probably wouldn't be the best solution long term, but it could get you by until you get patching set up.

The patching portion is fairly simple though. Once I started on it, I was pushing out patches to all of our machines within a week.

  • Thanks. I'm looking more for a way when flash says there is an update to allow users to run it, rather than setting up kbox to push them. - ckubaska 11 years ago
