Is it possible to give regular users access to be able to see the inventory report of their machine, and also a group of machines that we somehow configure to say that they own.  My use case is that I have a manager of an engineering group, and I would like that manager to be able to manage just the list of computers that his department owns.  Is this possible without having to create a new ORG?

  • They should be able to see their information when they log into the User Portal as themselves but they won't be able to see other devices unless you give them access to the /admin side of the KBOX. Which I am sure you probably don't want to.

    Based on your use case, ORGS maybe the only way since you can't limit what a user sees if they had admin rights and can see the inventory module.

best thing to do is create a label for the machines or use the Description Field like we do for departments.  You can then create a report, filter on the label or description.  Schedule that report to be emailed to whoever you want on a schedule.

  • the manager would be able to review the machines via the report and the helpdesk would need to make any updates the manager asked for
