[&:] I have tried to use the msi that comes with this package and create an mst to go along side to make this a silent install but no matter what I do I always get this error message "Registration information is invalid. Please reinstall Adobe Premiere Elements"

Please help

Yeah that's it..

Not sure what packaging product you are using but you need to have a table view of your MSI and look at the property table. I'd advise Orca for this - t's free and part of the Windows Installer SDK from MS..

Open the MSI then click the Transform menu and choose New Transform.

Now goto the property table you should see entries for the properties mentioned above which you need to set as follows:

AgreeToLicense (yes)
COMPANYNAME (enter as required)
SERIALNUMBER (enter as required)
USERNAME (enter as required)

Once you've set these select Generate Transform from the Transfrom menu and choose a suitable name for your MST. You now have the standard vendor MSI with a transform with your customisations.

Worry about that first - once you get it installing OK we can look at the additional reg entries (if they are required for you)

Hope this helps,
Rob.

Hi, here's a brief overview from MS.. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/255905/EN-US/ but there's no definitive guide as it's just for editing the MSI at table level..

Hope it helps,
Rob.

Do you mean this entry
MSI Sits in Disc 1 \Premiere Elements
Properties I set are
AgreeToLicense (yes)
COMPANYNAME
SERIALNUMBER
USERNAME

I used a MST to set these for a Group Policy deployment.

I also imported the following reg file into the MST to stop it prompting for registration on first run

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{6CCDF4E6-D2AE-4DD8-80FD-F9AFF951AEAE}]
"EPIC_REGS_TYPE"=dword:00000004
"EPIC_REGS_STATE"=dword:00000002
"EPIC_REGS_LANG"=dword:00000000
"EPIC_REGS_COUNT"=dword:00000000
"EPIC_REGS_DATE"="2005-03-10 11:02"

I was hoping someone might be able to explain this as it sounds very easy but being new at this I couldn't work out how to creat such an mst I have tried using a product on trial which doesn't resolve my issue, but if it's a simple case that I can create one myself then this would be excellent.

Can you explain how to do this, Cheers
