Adobe Photoshop Lightoom 1.4.1

I've been able to package this software fairly quick. It's pretty easy, it's a MSI, you just have to add a few registry keys so it can be registered. My problem is when I open Lightroom for the first time, I always get a screen asking if I want to set the update to manual or automatic. Of course, I would like this window to never appear but I can't find the property, registry key or file that controls that setting or window.

Has anyone packaged this application and been able to completely silenced it?

Thanks...

Hey sylvain,

Not sure what packaging tool your using but you could possibly do a small snapshot of the first time application launch only.
This should give you the information you are looking for. I believe that it is possible to suppress that box. Another associate did it at my previous employ a couple of months ago.

Thanks for your input. I found that Lightroom wrote a file (%APPDATA%\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom Preferences.agprefs) when it opened the first time. That file needs the following entry so that it does not ask any question about the update method:

noAutomaticallyCheckUpdates = true

Hey Sylvain,

I am trying to package Lightroom 2.0. I was able to script the install but when I launch the app, after installation, i get screen for registration. Is there a way to enter the serial # with the script?

Thanks,
Amanu

I have not looked at version 2.0, but in version 1.4.1, the serial was added to the following registry key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Lightroom\1.0\Registration\

value: serial_number
data: 123412341234123412341234

Can you create a package KB for the same, so that it will be helpful for others...

Hi Dhana,

You have to add the "noAutomaticallyCheckUpdates = true" to the preference file (Lightroom Preferences.agprefs) which is located in the Application Data folder of every user ("%APPDATA%\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences").

As suggested, I added a note the already existing Package KB.
