Adobe Acrobat Distiller

Team,
I am using Wise for Windows Installer 3.52 and am trying to create an msi for Adobe 4 - Full version with the distiller printer or any Acrobat printer. I can create the package fine, but when I install the package on a test machines, none of the Acrobat printers show up. Has anyone run into this problem and/or have any tips on getting this to work/show up?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

You need to stop and start the spooler service in order to install the pdf printer. If you have captured it correctly then set spooler to stop at the start of the install and restart it at the end and the printer should be there.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if there is any documentation on how to stop the service at the start and start at the end?

In Wise go to Installation Expert tab and click on Services.

In there put the service name....in this case the name is Spooler.

Click on Stop and Start service in both sections.

Now the spooler service will be stopped as the msi starts to install and restarted at the end of the installation

Thanks; does it matter if I do it before or after the setup capture? This stuff is actually pretty cool.

No you have to stop and start the service in your package....not during the capture.

I got the printer to show up in my .MSI package but when I do an uninstall it removes all my printers. Does anyone know how to only uninstall the adobe printer(s)?

Your msi must also contain other printer information such as registry keys or files that your other printers need.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
