Adminstudio 6 - passing parameters to DLL's as custom actions
Hi,
I'm using Adminstudio 6 (waiting on 7.5 coming through the door) to deploy a plug-n-play printer driver. Essentially the files are dropped to a folder under Program Files and it is setup such that the user can add a printer manually without having to locate driver files etc.
I have managed to get this working perfectly through Wise using the information contained in the sticky at the top of the page, but I need to get it working in Adminstudio.
However, Adminstudio doesn't appear to allow you to pass parameters to a DLL in the same way that Wise does.
Has anyone found a way to accomplish this? I understand that 7.5 supports DIFx 2.0 so this may be the solution, but I'd be grateful for any other insight.

In reply to my own post. It would appear that in version 6 there is no (easy) way to pass parameters to a DLL, nor does the custom action "Standard DLL" appear.
With version 7.5 both the "Standard DLL" and the ability to pass parameters to a DLL becomes available.
As v7.5 also supports DIFx 2.0, you have the option to use Unsigned drivers in the device driver wizard which solved my problem.
Hope this helps someone else
