I wish to disable the auto update on Acrobat Reader 8.1

This registry key..

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\8.0\FeatureLockdown\bUpdater = 1

will hide the Update menu under "About" but does it disable it or it still checks in the background?

If it still checks in the background, how do I disable totally?

Thanks,

tsutton,

You should be able to use the Adobe Customization Wizard to achieve this;

http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3564

and thanks for the heads up for the new release of v8.1 [;)]

Perfect, that's what I wanted - thanks for the link! This should make things a lot easier.

Now I wish other companies do this...
