AAR7 Setup and Software Files

We are testing the installation of Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 using an SMS Installer script. We are executing an MSI using a transform. The AAR 7 msi and mst files are located on a local server with just the setup files:

0X0409.ini
Abcpy.ini
Adobe Reader 7.0.msi
Adobe Reader 7.0.mst
Data1.cab
instmsiw.exe
Rdr70.its
setup.exe
setup.ini

There were also a few files generated when the transform was created and we are including them in the software source files.

Are there any other files that need to be included in the software source files for Adobe Acrobat Reader 7? The reason I am asking this question is because when the software installs on a remote workstation, not all files/folders are installing in the Acrobat 7.0 folder. Some are installing in the Adobe folder.

Thanks,
Sandy
P.S. The resosurces available through this website have made the process so much easier. Thank You expecially for these resources. It has helped simplify what has been a very difficult package.

you can safely dump the ini and exe files. all you need is the msi, the mst and the data1.cab.

I'd check the transform for the correct install path, if memory serves me correctly, the default was set to just adobe (instead of adobe\acrobat 7.0) and I had to manually set it to the 'proper' path.

Strange that the Installshield tuner doesn't have the same default set as you'd get from a typical install.

I trimmed down the files we are replicating to the servers and found the install path in the transform and changed it.

It is so great to have help when you really need it. I hope I can help someone else as you have helped me.

Thanks you for responding.
