3.4 Driver Feed?

How do I get the Driver Feed to work with systems that don't seem to be available as a package? D630 520 etc don't seem to be available.

Yes, in 3.4 you can add them to:

Drivers_postinstall\dell\os\custom\combo\notebook
or
Drivers_postinstall\dell\os\custom\combo\desktop

The tasks that were published on appdeploy recognizes 3.4 paths as well :)

In 3.3 I had used the Combo packs for the older Dell models, like the D630, Optiplex 740 745. Can I copy the combo directory over from the Old_drivers folder and have the 3.4 system pick them up?

muebel,

I'm assuming your referring to the driver feed for scripted installs in 3.4 if so then you can add your drivers to the drivers_postinstall under Dell\Windows 7\[Model]. (You can run the Get_Manufacturer_Model_OS.vbs script in the drivers_postinstall\feed_tools folder to know what the folder name should be.) What I did is downloaded the drivers from support.dell.com and extracted them into folders for audio, chipset, communication, control, control_point, input, network, security, storage, and video just like the drive feed does, that seemed to work for me.

Is it well enough that I just drop the combo pack drivers into some folder that the Scripted Install will always check? Or does the K2 only check directories that have a name equal to the manufacturer model?

I have been able to use the combo driver pack in the past, and it would be great if I could avoid duplicating the drivers amonngst multiple directories for the sake of matching the system model.

Hey muebel,

In 3.4 you can put the combo packs in:
Drivers_postinstall\dell\os\custom\combo\notebook
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
