Hi, I recently graduated college with a computer engineering degree. I've been learning about the different possible fields that I could go into and application deployment was one of the suggestions made to me by friends/counselors etc. IT is just so broad that I'm finding myself very confused and am consulting lots of different people before making a decision.

I was wondering how is the market for this career? How can I get started in this career? I understand that there are several tools out there for packaging and deployment, but is there a training program out there that can just educate me on the basics of what application deployment is? Once i understand the concepts, the tools can be learned at anytime. What are the popular tools used today in the US for packaging and deployment? How can I go about learning these?
