Download Driver Harvesting Utility

Where do I download the Driver Harvesting Utility?  All the documentation says to click on Library, Driver Feed, Choose Action but it's not listed there.  I need this to download HP drivers -- thanks!

  • See Corey's comment below -- it's now called the Driver Feed Builder Utility and can be found here:

if you are using syspreped images you can put the drivers in c:\windows\inf\somedir and during the post sysprep oobe phase windows looks here and will find your drivers and install them.

    • I look for the sccm driver pack and unzip the cab file with 7zip and copy the expanded folders to the master image. You can also create a mid level bat task that will xcopy from a share to the c drive prior to reboot. Use this if space is a concern. I have about 7gig of driver files on my masters, but having them on the master means the images are hardware independent.

I already have t mapped for my external wim storage so I use that drive as the source for the drivers also

      Copy X1 Carbon x64 drivers.bat

      md c:\windows\inf\x1carbon
      start /wait xcopy t:\drivers\X1Carbon_W764\*.* c:\windows\inf\x1carbon /s /q /y - SMal.tmcc 10 years ago

I believe that the Driver Harvesting Utility was removed from 3.6, but I can't seem to find any note of it. I know at that point it was already pretty old and generally unreliable... There was no development going on for it.

It is no longer available, it was removed in 3.6. There is a utility in the training bundle called double driver. You scan the machine you want to "harvest" from and put them on the samba share. You can also Google double driver.

Use the Scripting Ninja's "Driver Feed Builder Tool" which utilizes commandline doubledriver to harvest the drivers.
